Even if the Gutenberg program predates appleworks The Prodos users disk will
convert dos 3.3 files to prodos files. The key is making it as easy as
possible. Granted a null modem cable would be the fastest... If.... all of
the settings were ok. But most users have no idea how to use that cable.
I recently xfered (8) 800k disk files to MsWord format. These files
converted to the pee cee format now take up about 18 megabytes. The end
result Pee-Cee page looked the same as the Macwrite 4.5 document done on an
Apple 2 Gs.
I know a sucessful lawyer who still uses a Commodore 64 for word
processing. He prints on a Citizen dot matrix printer. Getting those
documents converted to the IBM format would be a task.
