If you convert it on the fly to wav, then I am 
sure with a 4 or 8 MB ram card available, it could, 
but would have to buffer as a FIFO configuration. 
If you've ever had a sound card on a PC that uses 
ram incorrectly, there is a short pause while the 
buffering begins the next bank of code. With sound 
cards that have their own caceh ram, there is no 
pause. One would need to be built for the IIgs in 
order for it to work efficiently, but it can be done. 

BTW, the Mockingboard clones go on sale this week, or 
next, so watch the new site for them to be listed. :o) 
These require powered speakers as the pots are replaced 
with balast resistors, but there is a 2-pin header for 
connecting to the motherboard speaker port. And, they 
sound terrific. Not scratchy like the old versions.
