Yes, once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.
Anyway ALL problems mentioned in my posts on this subject are now solved.

A guru in the newsgroup, "comp.mail.pine" stepped in and helped me out.
I can now use PC-PINE to delete or exclude old newsgroup messages and to
reply to or forward messages, and to compose and post new messages.  No
problems, except that NWCACHE doesn't work with PC-PINE for DOS.  Even that
is not a significant problem.  Even without a disk cache I'm satisfied
with my PC's performance when doing very simple tasks such as using a mail
client.  I just have to remember to reload the disk cache before entering
my Arachne.
