We had quite a discussion about disk caching here in '99 or '98. I
tried NWCACHE myself and I found that the default delay when delayed
writes are enabled is 5 seconds (IIRC). My caching software warns
against any thing greater than 1 second (default is .5 seconds). This
might explain why crashes sometimes cause the FAT's to not be in
agreement since the cache has probably not finished writing to the
drive. It might be safer to change the write delay to something
similar to what mine uses as default.
