Excelently, Glenn! You hit on the head. But what is the reason of so bad
DNS negotiations?

OK, I didn't know there is DOS version of Trace Route. It is usefull
program but we need something different, namely, NSLOOKUP that gives much
more full DNS information.
Steve,
if your start page on Compuserve has the base name www.compuserve.com or
www6.compuserve.com they both have the same IP address 149.174.144.32
For Freewwweb the situation is different a little - there are two IP
216.70.93.172 and 216.70.93.139 for the single name www.freewwweb.com.
Set NameServer and AltNameServer in arachne.cfg to 0.0.0.0, set Gateway
and AltGateway to 0.0.0.0, set Netmask to 0.0.0.0, set UseProxy No and
set ; at first pos. of Homepage string (disable homepage). It would be
better to make these settings in .cfg file directly by Norton Ed. or the
other similar editor not by Wizard. Start Arachne and dialing. After
successful connection and loading packet driver Arachne will try to load
home.arachne.cz, stop this loading by X button (X-I logo would be
blank). Now type in URL field http://149.174.144.32 for Compuserve or
one of two other IPs for Freewwweb. Report the results. We'll be
thinking about next steps.
Sergei.
