I have modem on COM4 (0x2e8) and no COM3, and connect with DOSPPPD. In
OS/2 Warp 4 VDM, COM4 actually works, but under MS-DOS or DR-DOS, COM4 is not
recognized while 0x2e8 is. Since I run other DOS Internet programs and not just
Arachne, I prefer to have one dialup program separate from Arachne.

Or could there be some other problem, like your ISP down, or bad password?
