And he did! IE has "Internet Explorer Script" not JS (but they claim to

This is NOT true, it did take off and the reason was that Netscape was by
far the biggest browser developer out there. (And you can do some quite
nice looking effects with JS).

With your conclusion put in another sense: "Windows NT sucks so therefor
all OS suck!"
(Or why not: "Macs sucks so all computers suck!")

I agree on Java.

But how could they possible make a change in the OS/GUI so that
applications can be stopped in that way? If he could don't you think he
would have stopped Netscape (or any other competitor) this way earlier?
(Ok, DR-DOS 6.x couldn't install some versions of Windows 3.x but that's
diffrent).

Nothing essential but you can add for instance changeable images (when the
mouse is over them) - this is very nice for menus. Or why not images that
zoom in/out (IIRC this can be done). In general you put more of the logic
out on the users computer than on the server (you can use JS for many
things that CGI are used for).
