Read. This is probably not the answer you expected, but the fastest
way to start feeling at home in Linux. Fire up the Midnight Commander
( type mc ) and go to /usr/doc/HOWTO . The HOWTO's are a bunch of
documents explaining how to do certain things with Linux. Just read
the titles untill you get the "can I do that, how cool" feeling.
For example take a look at the DOS-to-Linux, Tips, ISP-Hookup, Mail,
Net, PPP or Sound HOWTO's. They are all targeted to new users, I think
you can guess what they are about. Try installing some programms
yourself, eg a HTTP server like Apache. Never mind if your on a stand-
alone machine, seeing your own pages being loaded from your own server
gives an adrenaline rush that makes up for all the trouble :)
