hi earic, some lucker? <grin> anyway, screen reading and speach recig are not quite the same thing. in screen reading, the output and input of the computer are conveyed in a audio format. my experience with speech recig nition is that you m ust get the computer to understand your spoken word. different concepts, though i have seen programs that sought to do both at the same time. thanks btw for not remarking on y typing. i am cheating a bit, rather than downloading the messages, i am just writing my replies as i read. no way to make it look really good, but you get the answers faster. thanks to all, karen lz
