Sorry about the confusion. I probably put too much info
into README.TXT. Have another look at the third paragraph:

- Booting BasicLinux from harddrive
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Copy these files to a convenient directory:
- - boot.bat
- - loadlin.exe
- - zimage
- - baslinux.gz
- Enter DOS mode and execute "boot"

The fourth paragraph is entitled:

- Booting BasicLinux from 1.44meg or 1.2meg floppies
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The fourth paragraph only applies if you want to boot BasicLinux
from floppies (instead of booting it from HDD).

No, Lilo is not there (loadlin is used for booting). Yes, the
filesystem is native Linux. It runs on a 4meg ramdisk.

Just type boot and BasicLinux will run from your DOS HD.

That's what I tried to do in the third paragraph of REAME.TXT.

True.

n (but if you really want a UMSDOS version, I could
probably cobble one together for you).

Thanks, again, for the input.

Cheers,
Steven
