It's certainly possible to do this, but the method
(described in README.TXT) is not suitable for a complete
newbie. I'm thinking about adding simple SAVE and RESTORE
commands, which will store your changes on a floppy disk.
How does that sound?

http://www.linuxdoc.org/ has a ton of documentation about
Linux. Amoung other things, you'll find a DOS-to-Linux
HOWTO which could be useful. For a beginner's tutorial,
you might try this: http://www.obsidian.co.za/rute/
If you prefer a dead-tree tutorial that you can prop up next
to the screen, have a look in your public library (I live
in a town of 50,000 people and our library has a dozen Linux
books). Don't buy a beginner's book -- you'll only need it
for a couple of weeks.
Cheers,
Steven
