There is something that we sometimes have a very hard time coming to
grips with.

Just because something can be abused, that doesn't mean we have to
come up with some sort of fix to keep it from happening.

To expect Arachne to "filter" our out-going mail and stop any
duplications is not only asking for trouble, it's trying to prevent a
few people from doing something by limiting what the majority of people
can do, or the speed with which they can do things.

I know one town in California that said "If we can't control guns, we'll
just make selling or *having* any ammunition of any kind illegal within
city limits." They forgot about cops. They forgot about starter pistol
blanks. They forgot that the majority of ammunition purchased openly
through legal sites is intended for strictly legal usage. They were
out to "prevent gun violence" and trampling on the 99% [including
professional law enforcement officers] just didn't seem to matter to
them.

Right now I'm *still* angry that my ISP decided to limit mailing lists
to 35 recipients. Period. No mention in AUP/TOS. No warning that
messages were not being sent past the 35 recipient point. Arbitrarily
deciding that to prevent abuse they would limit legal, requested,
wanted, desired, NEEDED, mail from being sent.

To the folks who seem to want [sometimes without realizing it] Arachne
to be all things for all people, I point to Bill Gates and MicroSoft ...
and ask if that is what you *REALLY* want.
