Those are some very good points.
I think we are safe in saying that this particular bug fix can be placed
on the "back burner". ;-)

Even with file1, file2, file1, file2.... etc... etc..
file1 is only D/Led once and file2 is only D/Led once.
Arachne takes each link twice. But the second time file1 is reloaded
from the cache and the file2 is reloaded from cache.

Each of the 2 files is linked to 7 times. But is D/Led only once.
The other 6 times the link is reloaded from disk.
