That is a lot of work you've got to, trying out one of
the older versions of Arachne..... and finding the same
problem I am experiencing ..... that the "highlight and
delete" function simply does not work in those versions.
I also appreciate your cautions about backing up mail,
using a new/different directory ..... before upgrading
to a newer version. Your insight and cautions are some
of the reasons I never upgrade. While everything is
"supposed to be compatible ... and Never have any bugs"
that is daydreaming in the computer world. I actually
enjoy this list, and reading all the problems which
evolve each time a new version is released. That is
reality in the computer world. And I do Not want to
lost all (or any) of my current saved mail, sent mail,
or any other documents I may have spent hours on.
So as mentioned earlier, I will try all suggestions
received from all contributers on this list ..... but
only VERY cautiously. I do not want to lose a single
file, document, note or letter.
Again, thanks for you persistence..... and the time you
have put in checking out this problem.
