I had explored a bit that multi-tasking aspect of Linux and would like to
say that it's the only thing that has impressed me so far - but I'm sure
any DOS task switcher would have offered the same impression.
Remember, I'm not talking about tasks that are continuing while not observed.
It is not likely I would ever require that ability. I'm not in the habit of
trying to download files while surfing elsewhere - the pipe can carry only
so much data simultaneously so both processes will suffer to some degree.
To ward off any argument on this point, let us assume that both processes
are equally busy - like downloading two different files from the same site.
However Steven, as you seem to be tech support for Linux (hehe), returning
to the quoted message, is there any way to do the inter-user pasting without
a mouse ? If I'm at the CLI I don't want to have a mouse cluttering up my
desk.<g>
