I never could figure how to select text accurately with the mouse at the command
line.  Then I remember the mouse would get into mischief (mousechief?), and I
would have a lot of text scrolling rapidly when I was not at the computer.  Only
way to stop the mousechief was gpm -k, and then I could not start gpm again
until after the next reboot.  Maybe newer versions are better behaved?
