Hello Clarence and Bernie, and anyone else who has an idea on why I can't
get Arachne to connect to the Internet.
I tried all the steps to increase the amount of free memory. I also have
tried a second ISP that I use daily in Win98, with the correct DNS username
and numbers.
Since I have 64 megs of RAM to start with, I doubt that insufficient memory
is the problem. I could be wrong however.
I have included first the exact screen text when I attempt to get online
with Terminal Window active.
The pre revised and revised conventional mem.logs are next below. Following
that, I have pasted the final Config.sys and Autoexec.bat from the actual
computer I am trying to hook up. Lastly, I have pasted in the contents of a
file that has all the memory information.
Thanks for your help.

Here is the loading sequence:
MINITERTM 1.65 - external dialer for PPP/SLIP drivers. © 2000 Arachne Labs.
* Reading configuration file C:/ARACHNE/ARACHNE.CFG
* Initializing modem. Press <Esc> to Abort.
AT&F
OK
* Dialing 303-731-4492
ATDT303-731-4492
CONNECT 24000/ARQ
IMPORTANT:
This is point where most novice users are becoming confused.
When you see "weird characters" like "{#@${!^%{"), it is not error. These
characters are PPP packets and you should press <F7> key to load PPP driver
!
* Terminal mode. Press <Alt+P> or <F7> to load PPP driver.
At this point there sometimes are characters. Whether there are characters
here or not, it very rapidly jumps to the next line.
*Leaving MINITERM and trying SLIP/PPP. Press <Ctrl>+<Pause> to abort.
After a delay, it goes to
PPP link is down, driver not installed.
