You have plenty or upper memory to load epppd, so try this one:

copy arachne.cfg arconfig.bak

Start arachne, press s, choose manual setup, then external dialup
driver.

Leave the name of the configuration file as it is. On the left side,
choose "Try to do bootp". Your nameserver info is probably already set.

Packet driver command:
@lh epppd>ppp.log
Packet Driver Unload command:
@termin 0x60>nul

Automatic Dialer command:
choose "miniterm.exe"
Terminal Window to display:
doesn't matter

URL to display:
file:ppp_init.htm

Down the left side, check that the modem info is correct.

Right side:
verify phone number
unselect Show Terminal Window
unselect Autodial
unselect Use the following script

press save, then use new settings

exit arachne

del ppp.log

start arachne

Verify the info shown, especially NO terminal window and NO login
script. Save password is up to you, fill in a password if one's not
present. Come to think of it, erase that line of "*" and fill it in once
again.

press alt+d

40 seconds later, you're connected.

If I'm wrong, press <esc> to abort the redial. Press alt+h (hangup),
then alt+d again. If it fails this time, press abort to escape redial,
then alt+e for a command prompt. ren arconfig.bak arachne.cfg . exit .

Redial. If it failed before, it'll fail now. Abort redial with <esc>.
alt+e for prompt. copy ppp.log pppfail.log . exit .

Close arachne, post ppp.log to the list. Should be informative enough
for someone to figure it out.
