John Lewis of the VE3LGS page advises that you install his stuff in the
directory C:\DIALNET. You could just as well install it on some other
drive, but it should be installed in subdirectory named DIALNET. The
reason for this is that all of John's packages and EZ setup programs are
designed for installing in a subdirectory named DIALNET. Some of his
programs serve as plugins and add-ons for other programs. Therefore the
config files have to know where to look for the accessory programs. Of
course you could install his programs into any subdirectory you want, but
if you did that you would have to go through the hassle of modifying
manually all of the config files. John's configs use relative path names,
not absolute path names. For this reason you could just as well install
his programs on any drive in a subdirectory named DIALNET. On several
occasions I have tried organizing John's stuff in ways other than what he
recommends. The result has always been that I would eventually discover
that John's sense of file oganization is better than mine.
