I agree that the interface is somewhat clunky and ugly, but it does
work and I find Nettamer highly useful, especially for doing 
newsgroups.

I use NTReader to provide a far superior interface with Nettamer.
NTReader is postcard-ware.  You can download it for free.  The 
author will send you a free registration code by email if you 
would just send to him a pretty picture postcard of an interesting 
place in your community or nearby surrounding area.  

I don't have the URL handy for NTReader.  You can probably easily
find it by doing a google search.
