Like I said earlier, I generally don't have problems using reiser in general. The problem is when using the associated tools - I can't remember if it's reiserfsprogs or progsreiserfs. But several times I've tried to use these to change a partition size (usually via qtparted) and they've totally borked the partition. The problem might even just be limited to *shrinking* a reiser file system, as I've frequently used reiserfs_resize from the command line to enlarge partitions and it works like a charm.
