Hi Phil,

Yes, we have followed step 9 and that seems to work, because the new nodes with all the concepts appear in the first list of the RDM. The new node/entity itself also appears in the drop down list section but just not with any of the concepts added as drop downs. It is a back-end problem and we're probably missing something simple.

Thanks for your help,
Lucy

Hi Lucy,
I'm sure you can. You just need to create the dropdown. I think this must be back end stuff though as you can't create a completely new dropdown through the RDM as far as I can tell.

Have you followed step 9 of the documentation for loading reference data? See http://arches3.readthedocs.org/en/latest/arches-data/#loading-reference-data

That may help.

Hi Phil,
Yes, I am talking about a new node with a new authority document attached to it, which has a new input field. Neither the RDM nor the input field show the concepts in the dropdown. I know I can add these through the RDM but I thought there would be a quicker way to do it through loading the authority document directly into Arches.

Hi Lucy,
Sorry my misunderstanding. I thought you were simply talking about the addition of concepts to a dropdown but you're actually talking about the creation of a new dropdown.

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your reply, but I don't understand it. We have completely the changed the cultural period authority document, for instance, admittedly possibly with fewer concepts on it but it loads onto the drop down fine, likewise the keyword authority file. Is it where we've added additional concepts to an authority file, making it longer than before?

Lucy

Hi Lucy,
I'm afraid you have to add the concepts to the relevant dropdown yourself.
Similarly if you've added any concepts to any of the pre-existing
authority documents you'll need to add them to the dropdown as well.

The good news is you only have to add the highest level terms and
their children will automatically be added as well.

We have created new authority documents for new nodes and they are
loading correctly and appearing in the concepts list but not in the
drop down section of the RDM and therefore not in the input forms. We
have used 'index' as the concept type and in every respect they look
like the standard authority documents such as cultural period whose
concepts do appear in the dropdown lists. What are we missing and
what do we need to do?

Thank you, Lucy
