Funny,
I am not having any issues at all..
Matter a fact, I had to resubmit a ticket monday for 3 individual issues..
and I have now resolved 2 of them in 3 days..
We have sent email.. to the tune of some:: 22 emails since monday..
I have had very little issue with the web site, the ARS server for product
defects was slow on the menu returrn.. to the tune of 1 minute, which is
rediculous..
As far as the Closing of tickets issue:: I have found, you do not send
updates.. usually they forget about you, cause they are as busy and a one
armed man in a coat hang'in contest. (Which stinks for them)..
The patches I can see and yes it does take 10 seconds to pop up, and
sometimes it does not popup at all.. granted..
Overall.. I would say things are not running that bad..

I would say for Dave:: after you get the accounts settled, ensure you can
used both sides, and even give them your userid and password, and have them
check it out.. I could not do alot of things, till I argued with them and
said "here is my userid and password" do it yourself.
then 2 days later it was fixed.. it took alot of work on their part..

Have a Great day..

not just the web services which are suffering it seems like this supportweb
upgrade virus has spread to the sales departments also.

Thankfully, telephone support still works and you can still talk to people
who know what they are doing.

The KB takes forever to load and then when you do your search, that takes
forever too... very annoying!

So, I guess it's safe to say that although the files show as listed (at
least for Windows, anyway); that the downloads simply aren't ready for
prime-time?

I attempted to download the same file for over an hour until it finally
timed out. I think I'll try from home late tonight.

Maybe, we should give the patches another week? I don't mind waiting. If
they would send out an official announcement indicating that the patches
have been delayed, that would work for us.

Maybe we should all put a support ticket in to BMC requesting overnight
delivery of the patches on physical media since the software is not
available online. Maybe it will seem worthwhile to invest in the
design/infrastructure of the patch distribution services.

The patches still aren't available. I'm looking at the 7.0.01 server for
solaris and all the directories are empty. I wonder why it takes several
days to copy a couple hundred mb of data.

If you look at the modify time of the files in the ftp server for 7.0.01p001,
the modify times range from 1/22/2007 09:52 to 1/23/2007 02:19, and
all the files aren't there. It's like they are running the ftp server on a
pizza box with a single SCSI-1 drive connected to the net via a dialup
connection.

This is horribly unusable. FTP is a PITA from where I sit too. I had to
install a packet sniffer, grap the ftp username a password, then connect via
our ftp proxy to the ftp server. Forget about getting to the ftp server
directly from the web page. Forget about using wget to fetch the patch
withouth grabbing several hundred mb of files I don't need. It's like no
one even thought about how the site would be accessed or used when they
threw this patch distribution scheme together.

All-

Has anyone been trying to perform downloads or navigate through the BMC
web
site over the past couple of days? The performance makes it almost
unusable. What is the deal? I can't even download a patch...

Jackson
