Robert,

Significantly less !!

We have just such a model in our [EMAIL PROTECTED] Suite. We do NOT charge our
customers
for application licenses, rather a single dedicated fixed or floating
license is all that is required.

I would like to continue on a diatribe of what we can do vs. what you can
get out of ITSMx but
I'll leave that for another day.

Remedy still rocks (ARS) ....

And this licensing model makes ITSM 7 very costly especially to medium size
companies.

Considering the ROI on the investment of ARS Licenses, then another
expenditure to license ITSM, makes me wonder the long term success of ITSM
7/xx.

Especially when there are other ticketing systems available at a cost less
than ITSM licenses.

Probably a variant of "C". You need enough ARS licenses to accommodate the
SUM of all of the application licenses you'll consume. Each registered user
will need one ARS User license, and one or more ITSM application licenses,
depending on their role(s).

Subject: ITSM Licensing Question

**

All:

In days gone by, one could license Remedy OOTB applications (well, at least
Help Desk) by simply purchasing the minimum 5-pack of Help Desk licenses,
which would effectively "activate" the app. Users could then access the app
using standard ARS fixed or floating licenses.

In recent discussions I had with BMC engineers, I was told this is no longer
true.

So my question is, if one wants, say, 100 floating licenses for ITSM, does
he need to.

1. Buy 100 ITSM user licenses only

2. Buy 100 ARS licenses only

3. Buy 100 ARS licenses and a minimal number of ITSM user licenses
(like what I described above)

4. Buy 100 ARS licenses AND 100 ITSM user licenses

Thanks,

Norm
