ITSM and AR System can release independently of each other. A release
of AR System does not "bump" ITSM. It is expected that a customer
upgrading to AR System 7.5.00 may continue to run ITSM 6.x and 7.x
applications without needing to upgrade the ITSM applications - just as
this was true for customers moving to AR System 7.1.00.

That being said, it is correct that there are tentative plans to release
a new version of ITSM around the same time period as AR System 7.5.00.

Hey Roger,

Are you 'sure' that the ARS 7.5 bump will also bump ITSM?

Heard something that I missed out on that you can share? I wouldn't
think they would rev-bump ITSM until ARS goes to 8x but I could (and
have been) wrong in the past.

Thanks

        My 2 Cent
            - Once Remedy goes to version 7.5 - Version 6 will NOT be
        supported
            - Looking at past history (2.1 onward) and being cynical as
well
        - I have never jumped right on a Remedy release, it
always
takes time to work out the undocumented features (bugs)
(There is leading edge and then there is bleeding edge)
            - Look at 7.0.1 Patch XXX........XXX.....XXXX.....
        (Not even
        mentioning the infamous ITSM)
            - Look at 7.1.0 Patch 2
We are currently on 6.3 (ARS) patch 23 - System is running
great
and is extremely stable and robust. We are testing 7.1 (Patch
2)in our
development environment, and are working through some
undocumented
features; we are debating on the 7.1 or waiting for the 7.5
plunge
        (considering all the items above)

I think the bottom line is, If there is a compelling business
reason(s)or must have functionality that drives the upgrade,
then great.
If not I try not to get caught up in upgrading just because
there is a
        new release.
