I do understand the problems with MAPI, and I always feel a little awkward
if I have to use the Office installation CD with a Windows server. But it is
either/or.. Either enable pop or imap, OR install the MAPI client on a
server... both may present issues in restrictive IT environments.
While I like the solution of running a tiny mail (postfix) server just for
Remedy (maybe also on a nice subdomain:
[email protected]) this will also need maintenance and
will pose problems in restrictive environments.

Kind regards,
