You can't simply use the Data Import Tool because each RKM article stores data
in two forms: RKM:KnowledgeArticleManager (stores the article ID, Title, etc)
and then whatever type of article it is joined to HowTo, Reference etc is the
form containing those form specific values (Question, Answer, etc).
BMC has a non-GA tool that you can use to convert XML, CSV, HTML files into RKM
7.6 but you have to request it through customer support.
We have also had success creating a custom Java program that reads in the data
source and connects to the AR server and using the AR API you can populate the
respective forms.
Hope that helps.

Hi Tauf,

This is a project where we cannot go for any customization at all.

Leaving that aside can you tell me how to go ahead with it.

I am dealing with 4000 artilces here all in HTML format residing in a
sharepoint in Client environment.

Arnab,

Have you looked through the Admin guide for RKM? Perhaps you can create a join
form with the RKM Article Manager form and a custom form where you show the
html doc in a dataviz field. The issue there would be that you would rely on
solely the metadata of the article instead of the content but perhaps this can
be a temp workaround. How many articles do you have?

That is right Roger!

Moreover since I have HTML files here, they need to be converted in a format

where you can reach the point that you can map fields. But before reaching

that state we have to deal with the HTML files and the formatting. I am not

sure if you have dealt with this kind of a requirement before.
