When SP3 came out, BMC Support indicated that I shouldn't upgrade because the fixes in my hotfix were not included. I'd like to be able to apply some service packs if they include other benefits like this but how would I know for sure (without just testing to see what happens) if the fixes I was provided are included or even necessary in SP4 or later? The pre-load timings of Midtier have been optimized in 7604 SP4 and onwards. To quantify the improvements, the pre-load timings have been reduced by 75% and CPU utilization during pre-load has been reduced by 50%. Also a visual "Preload indicator" is available as part of latest cumulative hot fix for 7604 SP4. Earlier one had to rely on Mid-tier logs to check things here. The said changes are part of Midtier 8.0 as well.
