The reason we need Copy to New here is because the users had it before and they
feel it is something stolen from them. They are lazy! They don’t want to have
to manually create a new ticket.

My plan is to do the following:
Create a button on the INC and WO forms respectively
Create an AL that will push only necessary info to the appropriate
“Interface_Create” form and let it do the rest of the work.

People here are really starting to hate ITSM 7604. They want their user tool
back, they want speed back, they want all of the millions of customizations and
special things built for them in the old version that we did not recreate in
the new version.

What they don’t get is that moving to another application SNOW, IBM or whoever
is not going to fix things, or make people happy. It will just be a different
type of angst!

Deep breaths, Claire.

It’s just easier to roll your own copy to new since you have control over
copying or clearing certain fields.
I disabled Ctrl-T years ago and only gave the “Copy a Ticket”” button to those
that needed it and would be careful with it.
It’s all about the control, muhahaha
Thank you,

Thank you for your input! I finally found last night the one of the answers I
was looking for and you confirmed it! Copy to New does not work in ITSM.

BMC… WTF! One of the greatest complaints from users when switching from the
User Tool to the Web is not having COPY TO NEW!

You tell us it is available and it really isn’t! Bait and switch! I was not
able to sleep last night so I got pen and paper out (gasp) and drew out the
process and I will freaking build it myself! Someone at my company is being
courted by SNOW, you better step up your game!

7604 Server should work fine with 8.1 Mid-tier. Please note that 8.0 Midtier
onwards IE7 won’t work. Yes, one would get performance gain in newer versions
of midtier and additional security fixes.
Copy to new should work fine with Midtier upgrade. It would work fine with
custom forms; the whole feature copy to new is not fully consumed in
Applications and there would be gaps with respect to the said feature in
Applications.

Ravi

I have checked the compatibility charts… I just want some real world
clarification.

If I install the Mid-Tier 8.1, I can still run my 7.6.04 Server? Also, if I
want the Copy to New functionality… is it just a Mid-Tier upgrade or an AR
Server Upgrade as well?

Has anyone had any real problems with MT 8.1 and ARS 7.6.04?

Thanks!!
