The Census of India documents have all the details, look at data from 1971,
1981, 1991 and 2001. it's all there for the region and the country in black and
white. sanjoy hazarika

Wondering where this Nagaland's "above 50% growth rate" is
published (same source might have info on other NE states too)!

What is the Birth Rate of Nagaland?

What are the Birth Rates of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka?
Do these countries have records of past Birth Rates?

What are the Birth Rates of other NE States?

Hello Sri Hazarika,
would you care to share your source of references!

Regards,
Rabin

In fact, states like Nagaland have a growth rate of above 50%, thanks
to a high birth rate. It's worth looking at Census of India figures.
Only Assam has a growth rate which is at par with national averages.

Ok. I did realize B'desh's birth rates were better
than India's. I assumed NE has a lower birth rate than
rest of India.

Does Bangladesh have a lower birth rate than Assam or
for that matter other regions of the North East?
