We are talking about macros that work today. They will likely not be changed to accommodate "workarea". In some cases, immediates could be used. In other cases, literals would be used (there is still the expectation of addressability to the static data). In still other cases (and EZASMI appears like it might be one), LOCTR might be used to get the DC's "out of line" to your static data area. Peter Relson z/OS Core Technology Design
