Uhm... so you're saying that someone sends an email to ASSP,
the latter proxies the email to IIS SMTP which *accepts* it, the
IIS SMTP then /tries/ to route the email to the messagelabs MX
and, failing to do so, retries that over and over ?

If that's the case, then it sounds like it's the messagelabs MX
which is *closing* the connection w/o returning an SMTP error
code, in such a case the resend is normal since it's due to the
standard SMTP retry mechanism
