It came out in the spring this year in the US and is getting some
excellent reviews among the IT crowd (esp the Microsofties). I wouldn't
call it an end user friendly phone as the learning curve is rather
steep. But it sure does a lot.

I haven't been able to make it to any meetings because my wife has had
commitments on Tuesday nights and I have to look after the wee wittle
one... but this is her last week... so perhaps by next month's meeting I
will have a softphone working on it (see previous response for link). 

Is there an open WAP nearby the NY city ctr?
