In support of Bjorn's observation about battery life, I can tell you about my HP 6325. It's got GSM/GPRS, WIFI and Bluetooth. I can control all 3 radios and if I turn them all on, it pretty much drains the battery in a day. If I were to get separated from my charger for more than 12 hours, I'd have to resort to smoke signals.

I've tried SJ Labs on a Dell Axim X30, and it works quite well. The physical sound quality isn't too good on the Axim though... The SJ Labs phone is very easy to configure and use. I used both Bluetooth/GPRS and WiFi, and both worked well. The free version doesn't have g729, so on Bluetooth/GPRS you need to use GSM. Not much savings in using GPRS unless you managed to get on an unlimited plan before they discontinued free use for non-Blackberry users. I don't think any pure WiFi VoIP phone is ready for real use yet because of the terrible battery lifetime. Cellphone manufacturers might have more experience in that regards. -- Bjorn -----Original Message----- From: Doug Geary [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, August 29, 2006 2:35 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [on-asterisk] Nokia E61 http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html and specifically... http://www.sjphone.org/preview/ce/ SJ Labs seems to be the most popular, although beta. Every Google search ultimately ends up pointing to this. I haven't tried this yet. Will let you know how I do.
