Thanks, Simon. I didn't know that. But even when there's no call, the
web interface is usually off. I have to do a cold boot on the Handytone
to get it to respond again. We had a similar problem with incoming
calls abandoned on the Zap line. If the call went to the Handytone (by
default), it occasionally locked up to the point of having no dial
tone. Ever since switching to a cable co. land line, that doesn't seem
to be a problem anymore. I believe its because they put on supervised
disconnect by default.

You can use an ATA as your FXS port. I use a Handytone 488 but I don't
necessarily recommend it. It gets unresponsive on the web interface but
still usually works. Guess I'll have to try a firmware update.

The X100P from what I read is just a single port FXO card - not a
FXO/FXS card.
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to a Digium TDM11B card
because people mentioned about the echo issues with the SPA3102.
Are those the only choices for a FXO/FXS card/box?

The card Syd mentions (X100P) is about as functional and cheap as they
get. The only issue I has was problems with the server not realizing
that the line is hung, necessitating a manual hangup from the FOP. Oh,
yea, and some of these don't work in a fast motherboard. But ever
since
we switched to the cable co. as our main line provider, the line
hangup
hasn't been an issue. (Anyone?) Is that because they do supervised
disconnect on their lines by default (Unlike Bell)? I also
noticed that
the wall phone blings when the caller hangs up. Interesting side
effect.
