We distribute those for two reasons: 1) We want to cut down on transcoding (if it's even possible for you to transcode G729) 2) We want you to be able to use G729 even without the G729 module Most people don't realize you can have a very functional Asterisk system using G729 without the G729 codec installed. All it takes is a little configuration. I haven't used a G729 codec on an AstLinux system in quite some time. -- Kristian Kielhofner http://blog.krisk.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list Astlinux-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
