I won't be applying the patch that David sent over because of some security implications. David also reports that his systems have been stable using asterisk-gui on trunk images that he's tested.
Hopefully we'll have a release from trunk in the next month or so. When we're closer to release, we'll have some test images available. All I can say is I've never had a 0.6.x image lock up on me. I don't use the Asterisk-gui (which is not to be confused with the AstLinux web interface). Astlinux has only included the asterisk-gui since the 0.6.x releases. Prior to that, all ASTERISK configuration was done by hand. The network configuration was possible using a primitive webinterface, but nothing like what's in there now.
