Darrick,

Just a thought is it possible to have the Asterisk GUI as a installable
module, so those that want it can install it if they want to use it.

One a side note on my debian minimum install test box I had the Asterisk GUI
Version 1.0 installed which work like good I thought I will install the
latest 2.0 GUI to see what is happening and guess what it works perfect too,
so my guess is there must be something really strange in the Astlinux &
Asterisk GUi mix somewhere. Hope we could get to the bottom of it for a
solution as the Asterisk GUI keeps all the Asterisk file structure in place
and if you manually make any changes to the Asterisk file the Asterisk GUI
will not override them at all. Astlinux will really be a force to recon with
if we could collectively find a good working solution for it.

Cheers

Cleve

I won't be applying the patch that David sent over because of some
security implications. David also reports that his systems have been
stable using asterisk-gui on trunk images that he's tested.

Hopefully we'll have a release from trunk in the next month or so. When
we're closer to release, we'll have some test images available.

All I can say is I've never had a 0.6.x image lock up on me. I don't
use the Asterisk-gui (which is not to be confused with the AstLinux web
interface). Astlinux has only included the asterisk-gui since the 0.6.x
releases. Prior to that, all ASTERISK configuration was done by hand.
The network configuration was possible using a primitive webinterface,
but nothing like what's in there now.
