Hello all

I'm on-site today, trying to install another net5501. It has taken me
ages ot get here because of the snow, so I hadn't checked the box for
a good while. First issue was that it was not in fact 0.7, but
0.7-3417, so I upgraded it to 0.7.

However, both before the upgrade and afterwards, the onboard NICs just
seem to be almost completely dead. This box is configured with EXTIF
only, and I can ping that NIC successfully, but nothing beyond it. I
have no LED activity at either end of the cable. I've changed cables,
changed router port, and changed EXTIF from eth0 to eth1, but nothing
seems to work. I've checked 70-persistent-net.rules, and the NICs
seems to be named as I would expect. Even the DHCP discover during the
Runnix load fails.

I'm reaching the edge of my limited knowledge here, so can anyone help
me diagnose this?

Many thanks as ever

Tom
