Well my experience is slightly different - each to their own, of
course!

The Linn Karik+Numerik combo (with Brilliant III switching supplies in
both and using the synklink or whatever it was called) was great in its
day - but thoroughly outperformed by the Linn Ikemi. I had both of these
for several years.
The CD12 was even better (as it should be for the price - which was
painful at the time...fortunately I got 60% back on resale).

However, the SB3 as a transport is just as good to my ears. I am using
the Altmann technologies (Jisco+UPCI) to deal with jitter issues over
SPDIF + a linear supply on the SB3.

Having lashed out £12k on the CD12 I wasn't exactly in a hurry to
believe I could get better results for £2k...

I'll probably get a TP in March/April...but only if SD manage to make
the digital loop functional, so I can loop my TACT in!
