EAC has found errors on less than 10% of my disks, and less > than 1% have many errors or unreadable ones. I was about to make the same suggestion. My experience when ripping approximately 1100 CDs was that less than a dozen had any uncorrectable errors at all. This was using a Plextor PX712A drive, with Plextools rather than EAC.
NB. Having done quite a lot of experiments, I do not believe that EAC's error detection/reporting is any better or worse than Plextools - in fact when there *are* uncorrectable errors, Plextools allows the Plextor drive's excellent error concealment to be used (I never found a way to do that with EAC). -- cliveb Performers -> dozens of mixers and effects -> clipped/hypercompressed mastering -> you think a few extra ps of jitter matters? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31203 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
