I was about to make the same suggestion. My experience when ripping
approximately 1100 CDs was that less than a dozen had any uncorrectable
errors at all. This was using a Plextor PX712A drive, with Plextools
rather than EAC.

NB. Having done quite a lot of experiments, I do not believe that EAC's
error detection/reporting is any better or worse than Plextools - in
fact when there *are* uncorrectable errors, Plextools allows the
Plextor drive's excellent error concealment to be used (I never found a
way to do that with EAC).
