The Sugden is a fine amp (I'm not familiar with your speakers). The SB
certainly goes down as deep as any CD player as far as bass extension
goes. I think you should look at a DAC (not necessarily the Benchmark -
something closer to the Creek family sound would be an MF DAC (X-DACv3's
are cheap now the X-DACv8 is out - nothing to choose between them as far
as the basic DAC circuit is concerned - the V8 is essentially a V3+
X-PSU + X-10 valve buffer in a box).

I would expect the SB3+X-DAC to comfortably outperform the Creek. YMMV

Room correction is certainly something you should look at (I certainly
wouldn't live without it).

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...

...SB3+TACT+Altmann+MF DACXV3/Linn tri-amped Aktiv 5.1 system and some
very expensive cables ;o)
