The Sugden is a fine amp (I'm not familiar with your speakers). The SB certainly goes down as deep as any CD player as far as bass extension goes. I think you should look at a DAC (not necessarily the Benchmark - something closer to the Creek family sound would be an MF DAC (X-DACv3's are cheap now the X-DACv8 is out - nothing to choose between them as far as the basic DAC circuit is concerned - the V8 is essentially a V3+ X-PSU + X-10 valve buffer in a box).
I would expect the SB3+X-DAC to comfortably outperform the Creek. YMMV Room correction is certainly something you should look at (I certainly wouldn't live without it). -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal... ...SB3+TACT+Altmann+MF DACXV3/Linn tri-amped Aktiv 5.1 system and some very expensive cables ;o) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phil Leigh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=85 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40737 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
