Personally I think they're worth the peace of mind knowing you have a good offsite backup that is not subject to the whims of operating systems or USB drive malfunctions. Over the years I've seen at least two hard drives suddenly lose all data because of partition/ fat32/fat/mft/ext3 corruption when plugging them in via USB/firewire or pc crashes. I would never be comfortable knowing m only backup is a 2nd copy on another hard drive(s) connected via usb or other means. By the time you consider the cost of 750 or TB drives fr backup, an LTO solution is only marginally more expensive, and gives you the ability to properly backup all your other data too. -- egd Thecus N5200PRO >> Transporter >> ATC SCA2 >> ATC SCM100SLAT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ egd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3425 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42358 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
