My set up will be two interconnects feeding two active speakers from a Duet. Thanks for the diagram. It makes complete sense to connect the screen to pin 1. Since I drew that diagram I've seen some proper diagrams such as diagram 17 in http://rane.com/note110.html the same as yours. I just read the wiki again (I've done a lot of reading since I put the order in for the speakers) I took 'balanced input' to be the source...doh! But I linked the idea with what a mate of mine does, which is to use screened interconnects with the screens attached to the ground at the source and floating at the amplifier. And thinking about it, his kit it unbalanced end to end. Double doh! So your diagram it is. Thanks Clive for putting me straight. Phil mentioned Balun transformers. Are they for solving the ground loop problem or the mismatched sensitivty problem? Or one I don't know about yet? Is this what you mean?: http://www.monacor.de/typo3/index.php?id=59&act=8&act_sub=25&L=1&typ=u&hkatid=81&ukatid=264&spr=EN&brand=MO&seiten_id=25&produktliste=59 Also, while I've got your attention (thanks), regarding the likely sensitivity mismatch problem of connecting the SqueezeBox to what is really a power amp. The KRK VXT4's have a 'limiter with defeat.' This will overcome the mismatch if it is in the SBs favor and the SB is turned up too much. Won't it? I can't find the sensitivity for the VXT4. Again thanks. -- OwenCuro ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OwenCuro's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20280 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53262 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
