So they say, yes.  As I said, I'd love to see a blind test between a
digitally recorded record and the real thing.  I simply don't believe
that vinyl sounds better than digital, based on both my own listening
experience and the physical limitations of the medium.  In fact, I
think digital blows vinyl out of the water in every category from sound
quality to durability to convenience.  The only reason vinyl is still
around is nostalgia.  Which is fine, if that's what floats your boat -
but believing your personal bias has any relevance for anyone else is
just plain silly.

Agreed, more or less.  Digital is as good as it gets - the limitations
in sound reproduction now have nothing to do with the limitations
imposed by digital media or playback.  They're due to speakers,
listening rooms, recording, and the stereo format itself.

What most audiophiles believe is as far from a reliable guide to
reality as you can get.  I'd trust what most sound engineers believe,
or most consumers, or most researchers in acoustics - and that's that
digital is far superior to vinyl as a format.
