Inside the Transporter are jumpers that can lower the internal gain. Set them and then you can crank up your Cary's volume. With digital, you do want to set the digital volume to wide open at a level that is just a tad louder than you ever want to listen to. This topic is widely discusses in the forums, or google for "gain staging" If the internal settings don't do what you need, you can get external attenuators, which again lower the voltage so you can crank up the volume knob on your Cary.
