I came right here and found your thread as soon as I found out. In fact as much as I have been looking at the device for over a year I always ruled it out as I felt it was only for the Squeezebox system, but I learned today that it also has digital inputs. So it could serve as a DAC for my other sources. I felt that it was refreshing to read the comments on the forums here about how it was designed to perform without the "audiophile" BS and exotic designs and parts designed to excite audio fetishists. That having been said I think it would be very nice to see a new version and it is about time. However this time it would be nice if consideration is given for uses of the unit as both a SB player and standalone DAC. Which means IMHO an analog volume control is important because adding a pre-amp to it would be a pity and simple resistor attenuation won't work for people with multiple sources. -- sxr71 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sxr71's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18773 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80282 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
