If you seriously want to compare 24-bit with 16-bit, you should use the
Beatles remasters because they are the same master source.

It's just a pity it's so hard to get hold of the 24-bit versions...

As for older recordings, it all depends on what happened in the
(re)mastering...

quite easy to slap a dynamic expander or "aural exciter" across the
mix... will sound impressive and even more so in 24-bit :-)
I've done it myself - you can get some really fun results.
