I haven't compared the Touch to the DAC Magic, so I can't tell you what
sounds better.

The DAC separate has the advantage of flexibility - you can use it for
other components also if you wish.

If you can't directly audition the units before buying, I'd agree with
the posters who suggested to try the Touch and then return it if the SQ
isn't up to your standard.

BTW, the Touch is regularly online for 10-25% off. With a bit of effort
and patience you can get it for substantially off list. Useful also to
check in regularly at the Logitech site and this site for
promotions/openbox/coupon codes. The Touch has sold for as low as $170.
