Having the NECESSITY of building up a wi-fi network to just control my
audio system is none-sense ...having the POSSIBILITY to do it is
however an asset.

Seriously wi-fi is not mature to control audio system in real usage,
just changing one click on the volume after 10" of listening takes
minimum 10s reaction time ...on the other end I agree there is a
show-off effect being able to control the system form anywhere in a
home.

Three years ago I would have voted for having all the server stuff in
the player, on today I'm really happy that Transporter was build less
of that. This is what makes it still today a great product with respect
to competition. Computer stuff must stay away since it evolves much
quicker than audio.
